Wild Sweet Love

A triple-bill collaboration with BalletMet Columbus showcasing two favorite collaborators and one ballet legend!

WILD SWEET LOVE Featuring contemporary music from Roberta Flack to Queen, Trey McIntyre’s Wild Sweet Love takes the audience on a tempestuous journey through the ups and downs of love. Audiences may be familiar with McIntyre’s acclaimed piece Chasing Squirrel which was performed on tour at New York’s Joyce Theater and returned to wow Cincinnati audiences last season.

WHO CARES? Marking our sixth shared production, we are bringing back this Balanchine favorite in a big way – with a full corps de ballet in collaboration with BalletMet Columbus! Backed by some of Gershwin’s most popular melodies, George Balanchine’s Who Cares? celebrates the spirit of Broadway with an atmosphere evocative of a fresh and exuberant New York City. Gallivant through city streets to toe tapping favorites such as The Man I Love, I Got Rhythm and Who Cares?!

AGE OF INNOCENCE As a special treat, BalletMet Columbus performs Age of Innocence, choreographed by their own artistic director, Edwaard Liang. This modern piece is inspired by Jane Austen and set to music by Thomas Newman and Philip Glass. Two seasons ago, Cincinnati was treated to a performance of Liang’s Wunderland by BalletMet, which was punctuated by Cincinnati Ballet and BalletMet joining forces for Symphony in C, deemed one of the best performances of 2014 by The Columbus Dispatch!
